Before we hop into this week's digest of posts on HasOffers Today, I wanted to ask for your help. HasOffers has been nominated for "Best Bootstrapped Startup" for Geekwire's Seattle 2.0 Awards. This is actually a big deal for us in the Seattle Tech community and I would really love it if you would cast your vote for us! Vote for HasOffers In affiliate marketing (and virtually all performance marketing) there are two primary ways to track transaction flow from the moment of first click to the point where conversion takes place. Either you are tracking users via cookies on their browser or doing a server call to store a unique identifier. You might have read my post awhile ago about the difference between Client Based Tracking and Server Based Tracking, but based on a large number of inquiries to our customer support and a general misunderstanding of how server side tracking works, I thought it would be helpful to cover the basics of server side tracking including various implementations and benefits. At ad:tech San Francisco, TRUSTe announced their new TRUSTed Mobile Ads product, which is designed to provide consumers more control over the collection and use of their personal data. Consumers will have greater visibility into the tracking process along with a greater level of control over what's tracked. In addition to providing better control to consumers, TRUSTed Mobile Ads will facilitate behavioral ad targeting, without the current fears around the use of personally identifiable information. At ad:tech San Francisco, Fanzy, the company that bills itself as the world's first social loyalty network, announced it's new Fanzy Pro offering. Fanzy looks to capitalize on the interaction of super fans, those people who already tell their peers about how great your product is. Fanzy previously offered a free Facebook app that allowed brands to reward fans for specific types of interaction. With Fanzy Pro, the company adds some customization features to the product, including custom color schemes and social achievement badges. Startup Spolight finalist, GraphEffect, announced their new AudienceBoost for Twitter product at ad:tech this week. AudienceBoost is meant to enable brands to uncover new interest targets for Promoted Tweets and Promoted Account campaigns. Pinterest has affiliate marketers going photo crazy trying to figure out how to maximize conversions from the fastest growing social network, but it's not the only way to utilize photos for performance marketing campaigns. At ad:tech San Francisco, Stipple was awarded Most Innovative Startup in the Data and Targeting Category. |
